Atlant, the official dealer of the Mercedes-Benz truck line, along with a network of dealerships operating under UkrAVTO Corporation, managed to sell 281 trucks of this model in a year. As noted by the Ukrautoprom association, this figure gave the model a 7.9% share of the new truck market.
Compared to 2016 results, in 2017 Mercedes-Benz Actros sales jumped by 126%. Thus, the demand dynamics for this model in our country turned out to be positive. As for areas of application, about a third of the vehicles sold in 2017 were prepared for the needs of the construction industry, while the rest were mainly oriented toward international and domestic regional routes.
A certain role in these results was played by the proprietary lending program from Daimler AG, which was in effect for buyers of new Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles. In addition, two versions of the Actros were on the assembly line simultaneously — the new Actros New modification and the already familiar Actros MP3. Both versions offered the most generous coverage among competitors for the powertrain and gearbox — 3 years or 450,000 km of mileage, and service intervals were extended to 100,000 km.
Mercedes-Benz Actros New had already earned the status of a leader in Europe in terms of economical and technological solutions. For Ukrainian customers, this vehicle served as a comprehensive tool to achieve maximum profitability. Initially, the Actros New came with a Euro-6 engine, but from October 2017, a version with a Euro-5 engine also appeared.
Along with the new model, the well-known Actros MP3, familiar to domestic carriers, could also be ordered, having earned a reputation as a reliable and cost-effective truck in operation. Although production of this popular model was planned to end last year, the manufacturer decided to extend its production until September 2018.
