The rapid growth is driven by the active work of research laboratories that modernize existing and develop new tire models. Continuous efforts to improve their products and constant innovation have brought numerous international awards, mainly for their commitment to the highest quality at every stage of production. Therefore, at the specialized exhibition Reifen-2016, the attention of many experts and competitors was drawn to the Brisa booth, where the company presented new tire models for 2017. These are the summer passenger tires Lassa Driveways and the all-season Lassa Competus A/T2 for SUVs. Ahead of the summer season, the new models also appeared on the Ukrainian market.
Summer tires Lassa Driveways are produced in all popular sizes with a mounting diameter of 15-18 inches. They are designed for mid-class passenger cars, where comfort and confidence on the road are primarily important. Therefore, the developers chose an asymmetric tread pattern, which allows achieving high stability on both dry and wet asphalt. The tread design is optimized to reduce noise levels when driving on different surfaces. A special rubber compound was also developed for this purpose. Engineers also paid special attention to wear resistance, achieving high durability. The construction of Lassa Driveways tires has reinforced sidewalls, thanks to which they effectively cope with road hazards. When the surface is smooth, these tires save energy because they have low rolling resistance. Achieving this effect is not difficult when all components – the tread pattern, rubber compound, and sidewall construction – work in unison. The result is a well-balanced shoe for the city.
The above characteristics were confirmed during independent tests conducted by one of the most authoritative world experts in product quality testing – the German organization TÜV SÜD.
Engineers at Brisa thought in a slightly different direction when developing the high-performance (Ultra High Performance, abbreviated UHP) version of this model. Lassa Driveways Sport tires are aimed at drivers who prefer a driving style over a comfortable one. Quick responses to steering wheel turns, stability at high speeds on straights and in corners – these tires give the driver confidence when driving in almost any conditions they might encounter while moving around the city. The model is characterized by high performance not only in clear weather but also in rain, which was given special attention during development. Lassa Driveways Sport will perfectly suit powerful cars designed for large wheels – from 17 to 20 inches in diameter. In Ukraine, this model will appear already in 2018.
Lassa Competus A/T2 are intended for completely different vehicles. The model represents the next generation of the Lassa Competus A/T tire, popular among SUV owners. Thanks to the latest development methods, it was possible to improve the rubber compound and refine the tread pattern, achieving increased performance in most parameters. This is very important because Lassa Competus A/T2 tires are not just universal – they are universal squared. Firstly, they are all-season. Secondly, they are equally designed for use on hard surfaces and off-road. Combining opposite characteristics in one tire is not an easy challenge. But Brisa engineers managed to achieve great progress in the updated model.
Lassa Competus A/T2 tires provide high stability on asphalt and do not give up when leaving it. Thanks to the lugs and self-cleaning tread pattern, even sticky mud is not a problem. In frost, the rubber does not harden, maintaining decent grip on slippery surfaces, although, of course, all-season tires cannot compare with the characteristics of winter tires. But if you rarely drive in winter, Lassa Competus A/T2 will be an excellent way to save on a winter tire set.
The Lassa brand was created in 1974 and has since steadily strengthened its position in the world. A few years later, Brisa signed a technical cooperation agreement with Bridgestone, which gave a powerful impetus to the development of the tire direction and laid a solid foundation for the subsequent successes of the Turkish brand. Now Brisa is one of the largest tire manufacturers on the European market, occupying a significant share of the replacement market. Many automakers use Lassa brand tires for the original equipment of their models. Among them are Fiat, Ford, Honda, Mercedes Benz, Renault, Toyota, and others. Such impressive volumes require significant production capacity. One hundred kilometers from Istanbul is the world's largest indoor tire factory – its area is 361,000 m². But that is not enough. The company is already building the next giant plant, which is planned to be launched in 2018 – it will occupy a site of 950,000 m²!
The values of Brisa are customer orientation and innovation. Therefore, it is not surprising that the popularity of Lassa tires in the world is growing. With new tire models, the company's position will only strengthen.
