To launch the new model, the company had to significantly update and expand its production lines.

The Skoda Kodiaq is based on a platform familiar from the new Volkswagen Tiguan, but in terms of size, the Czech crossover surpasses its German counterpart. Its width, height, and wheelbase are 1882, 1676, and 2791 millimeters respectively. Ground clearance reaches 194 millimeters.

The engine lineup includes three petrol and two diesel units. The starting engine is a 1.4-liter TSI, offered in two versions — 125 and 150 horsepower. Additionally, a two-liter TSI is available, producing 180 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. Two-liter diesels are also available in two variants: 150 horsepower (340 Nm) and 190 horsepower (400 Nm).

There are three transmissions: a six-speed manual, as well as robotic DSG with six or seven gears. Modifications with more powerful engines are supplied exclusively with all-wheel drive, while for modest engines, a front-wheel-drive version can be chosen.

Sales of the Skoda Kodiaq are scheduled to start early next year, with prices for the car not yet disclosed.
