“The current generation Fiesta has proven so successful that this model deserves the right to further development,” a company representative noted.

The basis for the new model will be the platform of the current Fiesta, which will allow maintaining the previous dimensions of the car. The hatchback will be produced in two versions — with three and five doors.

The engine lineup of the new model will include a three-cylinder petrol unit with a displacement of 1.0 liters, which will be offered in three power options. Customers will also have access to a four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters.

In addition, Ford is working on a sporty modification of the Fiesta hatchback. Previously, the version with the ST badge had already been caught by spy photographers during tests on public roads. Engineers tried to make the test sample look like a regular Fiesta, but some details gave away the ST. The most noticeable differences were different wheels, tires, and brake system. The car also received a different exhaust system with two tailpipes. According to unconfirmed information, the car will be front-wheel drive and will get a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with increased power.
