SangYup Lee will take the position of vice president of the main Hyundai design center starting from June 2016.

His responsibilities, in addition to working on the exterior of Hyundai cars, will also include the selection of materials and color solutions for models of the South Korean brand, including the premium Genesis lineup.

SangYup Lee's career began at General Motors, where he became the author of the design of the previous generation Chevrolet Camaro. In 2010, he moved to the California division of Volkswagen, taking the post of chief exterior designer, and in 2013 he received a similar position at Bentley.
