According to Oleh Nazarenko, Director of the Ukrainian Auto Importers and Dealers Association (VAAID), the Cabinet of Ministers is considering the introduction of duties on Russian cars as a priority issue within the framework of abolishing duty-free trade.
Currently, passenger cars of the brands LADA, GAZ, UAZ, trucks KAMAZ, URAL, ZIL, "localized" versions of Volkswagen Polo Sedan, Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, Peugeot 408, Renault Logan, and some others are imported from Russia to Ukraine. Deliveries of Datsun, Mitsubishi Outlander, Citroen C4 Sedan, and Nissan Almera were planned.
In addition, the introduction of duties will affect tire manufacturers (Nokian, Continental, Michelin, Bridgestone) and spare parts manufacturers.

A 10% duty will make some cars completely uncompetitive, mainly affecting the budget sector of the market. Most likely, some models (which were created for the CIS market) will completely disappear from our market.
Recall that earlier the Verkhovna Rada introduced amendments to the "automobile laws".
