Recall that back in February of this year, the city authorities planned to raise the cost of travel in all types of urban transport to 3 hryvnias. However, at that time, introducing new tariffs was impractical due to the revolutionary events taking place in Kyiv.
Since then, time has passed, and the situation has changed: carriers' costs for fuel and other expenses continue to rise, and current tariffs do not allow public transport to even cover its own costs. It is even harder for private carriers, who have already appealed to the city authorities with a demand to urgently resolve the issue of increasing the cost of travel.

Increasing the fare will help prevent the bankruptcy of many state and private companies, whose fleets include more than a thousand buses. Moreover, the size of the new tariffs has long been approved, and it remains only to determine the date when they will come into force.
