This information reached the German journalists of Manager Magazin, who have access to the high offices of Volkswagen's management. The rapidly developing markets of Asia and Eastern Europe are ready to absorb millions of such cars.
Which company will be VW's partner in China is not yet clear, but negotiations are underway with the FAW and SAIC concerns. A Chinese model will also be used as the platform, which will receive German components and units.

Volkswagen has long been planning to launch a low-cost brand. The final decision was held back by the final cost of the produced cars, while maintaining the quality standards standard for the German company. Now, it seems, the decision has been made, and the new cars should go into production at a price from 6,000 to 8,000 euros in 2016.
The cars will be presented primarily in the markets of China and India, as well as in the territories of post-Soviet countries.
