The main difference between Smart and Renault Twingo models will be the design and overall dimensions of the car body. So, if the Twingo has a length of 3581 mm, then the two modifications of the "Smart" will have dimensions: 2692 mm – the two-seater ForTwo version and 3505 – the four-seater ForFour.
In addition, an electric modification of the ForTwo will also appear, and a crossover will be built on the basis of the ForFour. All models are united by a common line of power units and chassis. In total, the unification of Smart and Renault Twingo reaches 70%.
Let us remind you that we have already written that Renault is going to release a "budget car" based on the Twingo under the Dacia brand. According to preliminary information, its price will start from 5 thousand euros.
The two-seater Smart ForTwo will be produced at the French plant in Hambach, and the four-seater ForFour and Renault Twingo on the same assembly line in the Slovenian city of Novo Mesto. The presentation of the model is scheduled for autumn, as part of the Paris Motor Show, and sales will begin by the end of the year.
