Just a few days ago, the Association joyfully announced the imminent cancellation of the recycling fee and the upcoming changes to the law on the recycling fee. And already today, March 17, VAAID sent out a press release about the planned increase in the recycling fee and its coefficients.
According to VAAID, the increase in the excise tax will not apply to cars assembled in Ukraine. For importers, the increase in recycling fee rates will approximately double.
How this confrontation of interests between importers and automakers will end is still unclear. Let's hope that the situation will become clearer in the near future, and the government's decision will meet the interests of Ukrainians and common sense.
