Kozhemyakin announced this decision at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee dedicated to legislative support for law enforcement activities. He said that everything has already been agreed with Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov during their meeting in the evening of February 25.
After the Verkhovna Rada session, Kozhemyakin will personally call Avakov and the order will be signed. Similarly, yesterday, February 25, order No. 144 "On the liquidation of special units of the civil security police 'Berkut'" was signed.
Interestingly, instead of "Berkut", they plan to create a new special police unit, but it is not yet clear how they will radically differ, except for the uniform and name.
