Motor Trend magazine reports on a possible configuration of the iconic "Evo." The choice in favor of a compact diesel engine was quite deliberate, since the new unit from Mitsubishi Motors surpasses competitors' analogues by 35%. This turbocharged engine with a volume of 1.1 liters produces 135 hp.
In addition, a pair of electric motors placed at the rear axle ensures a weight distribution of 50/50. This balance is considered ideal for vehicle handling.
This is not the end of surprises for fans of the Japanese brand. If Mitsubishi Motors is developing its own platform for the "Evo," the standard Lancer will get a base from the Renault Megane. "Renault" acts as a partner of "Mitsubishi" and has agreed to provide its components for the new Lancer.
