The car must be produced in series. This information was confirmed by the new head of the British brand, Andy Palmer. This happened during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
According to him, it became known that the Rapide electric car will have all-wheel drive, an engine with 800 hp, and a range of about 200 miles (322 km).
The batteries will be supplied by either LG or Samsung. Also, the head of Aston Martin noted that the car will be a "genuine British car" – there will be no interchangeable parts with Mercedes.
The company plans to produce several hundred electric cars per year. The price range will vary from 200 to 250 thousand US dollars.
With a powerful and fast electric car, Aston Martin hopes to solve several tasks: reduce the average CO2 emission level across the model range and push the legislator of electric fashion, Tesla Motors, in the market.
