The new model is built on the MEB platform and is positioned as a crossover alternative to the ID. Polo. In terms of dimensions, the car is 4150 mm long with a wheelbase of 2601 mm, which allows it to compete with the Kia EV2 and Renault 4.
Volkswagen ID. Cross gets a range of up to 436 km
For the new electric crossover, two lithium-ion batteries with capacities of 37 and 52 kWh will be offered. The base version is equipped with an electric motor producing 114 hp, while the mid-range modification develops 133 hp. The most powerful version gets a 208 hp motor.The maximum range under the WLTP cycle reaches 436 km with the larger battery. The base version can travel up to 316 km without recharging.
Fast DC charging supports up to 90 kW for the smaller battery and up to 105 kW for the larger one. Recharging from 10 to 80% takes approximately 24 minutes. There is also a Vehicle-to-Load function that allows powering external electrical appliances from the traction battery.
Volkswagen electric crossover offers a spacious interior and modern equipment
Despite its compact size, Volkswagen claims one of the most spacious interiors in its class. The trunk volume is 475 liters, and under the front hood there is an additional 25-liter compartment for charging cables.The interior features a 12.9-inch multimedia display, as well as physical buttons on the steering wheel and center console, which the company partially abandoned in previous models.
Available options include matrix LED headlights, a panoramic roof, adaptive cruise control, 12-way power-adjustable front seats with massage function, and a Harman Kardon audio system with ten speakers.
The exterior of the ID. Cross is executed in the new Volkswagen corporate style with LED lighting, smooth body surfaces, and a modern silhouette that, according to the designers, should create the impression of a more expensive class of car.
