In the first half of 2026, Ukrainians purchased 77.2 thousand passenger cars with gasoline engines. This is 18% more than in the same period last year. The largest share traditionally consisted of used cars imported from abroad. This is reported by Ukrautoprom.

Of the total volume, 12.9 thousand cars were new, which is 6% more than last year. At the same time, the number of imported used gasoline cars reached 64.3 thousand units, showing an increase of 21%.

New gasoline cars: which models became sales leaders

The greatest demand among new gasoline cars was for crossovers. The top five most popular models included:
  1. Hyundai Tucson - 1141 cars;
  2. Mazda CX-5 - 910;
  3. Skoda Karoq - 583;
  4. Renault Duster - 570;
  5. Suzuki SX4 - 538.
These models formed the main demand in the segment of new passenger cars with gasoline engines.

Used gasoline cars: top 5 imported models

In the secondary market, the greatest demand was for cars imported from abroad. The ranking of the most popular models looks like this:
  1. Volkswagen Tiguan - 4053 cars;
  2. Volkswagen Golf - 3866;
  3. Nissan Rogue - 3625;
  4. Audi Q5 - 3479;
  5. Skoda Octavia - 1968.
Statistics show that Ukrainian buyers continue to prefer gasoline cars both in the segment of new cars and among used models. While modern crossovers lead among new cars, in the secondary market the greatest demand is for proven models of European and Japanese brands, which are regularly imported to Ukraine.
