We caught the five-door Suzuki Jimny in India – it is there, at the Maruti-Suzuki plant, that the production of the extended version will be set up. Some characteristics of the SUV are also known. Thus, its length will be increased to 3850 mm, and the wheelbase – to 2550 mm.
As can be seen in the photo, the rear doors of the Suzuki Jimny are significantly shorter than the front ones. In addition, the front bumper and radiator grille have been slightly changed.
Naturally, the new Suzuki Jimny in the five-door version will become more spacious inside, and its trunk volume will also increase. The top version will get LED headlights, parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and a 7-inch touchscreen.
Although a 1.4-liter turbo engine is already being prepared for the three-door Suzuki Jimny 2022, the five-door version will for now remain with the 1.5-liter 102-horsepower naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine. You can choose between a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission.
In India, the SUV will be cheap – from $13,500 for the base version (although it will be very poorly equipped). The global version will appear a little later and will be more expensive.
