It should be noted that the Volkswagen Taigo is not a completely new model. It is the European version of the Volkswagen Nivus, which has been sold in Latin America for a year.
The Volkswagen Taigo 2022 is a close relative of the T-Cross model, but slightly larger – 4266 mm in length, 1750 mm in width, and 1490 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2564 mm.
The wide radiator grille and large headlights make the coupe-crossover related to the VW T-Cross. Naturally, its main external difference is the sloping roof.
Many interior details of the Volkswagen Taigo are familiar from the same T-Cross and VW Polo. It is known that the trunk volume is 438 liters.
LED headlights and a virtual instrument panel are already included in the base trim. Among the options are keyless entry, climate control, 18-inch wheels, a 9.2-inch touchscreen, light and rain sensors, a rearview camera, Wi-Fi, and adaptive cruise control.
Available will be gasoline turbo engines with a displacement of 1.0 liters (95 and 110 hp) and 1.5 liters (150 hp). The crossover will be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed robot with two clutches DSG.
Initially, the new Volkswagen Taigo will be offered in 28 EU countries, as well as Turkey and North Africa. The stylish Volkswagen coupe-crossover has every chance to appear in Ukraine as well.
