The new Mercedes SL will change significantly. First, it will become a four-seater, and second, it will get a soft fabric (rather than metal) folding roof. A new lightweight chassis made of aluminum and magnesium was developed for it.
The official photos revealed the interior of the Mercedes-AMG SL. Its highlight is an adjustable touchscreen multimedia system with an 11.9-inch diagonal. The roadster also received a virtual instrument cluster and a three-dimensional projection on the windshield, and its interior is trimmed with expensive Nappa leather.
The design of the Mercedes SL is still kept secret, although the roadster has already been captured in spy photos. It will retain the familiar silhouette and get the signature AMG radiator grille "mouth".
Most likely, the new Mercedes-AMG SL will be equipped with gasoline turbo engines with a displacement of 3.0 and 4.0 liters. A flagship version SL73 with an 800-horsepower hybrid setup is also planned.
