Ford Transit Connect 2022 turned out to be painfully familiar at first sight – in design it repeats the new Volkswagen Caddy. And this is not surprising, because Ford and Volkswagen concerns signed a partnership agreement.
As part of the cooperation, Volkswagen will help Ford create new Transit Connect/Tourneo Connect, as well as a compact electric crossover (it will borrow the platform from VW ID.3). Ford, in turn, will share the frame platform of the Ranger pickup for the second generation VW Amarok, and will also help create a new commercial Volkswagen model based on the Transit van.
As can be seen from the photo, the new Ford Transit Connect differs from the Volkswagen Caddy in the design of the front part. It is also known that it will be slightly cheaper than its German counterpart. It is quite possible that the minivan will also receive other Ford engines.
