They were announced during a closed presentation of the new Sportage in South Korea, meaning they pertain to the domestic market specifications. As reported by the YouTube channel Dodo Tube, the crossover received two powertrains – a 1.6 turbo with 180 horsepower and a hybrid setup with 230 hp, which is based on the same 1.6-liter engine.
There is also some data on the cabin screens: it is reported that both the digital instrument cluster and the multimedia touchscreen have a diagonal of 12.3 inches each.
Additionally, AutoPortal has made several screenshots from the Dodo Tube video that allow you to see the new model in person (from different angles, both outside and inside).
In terms of design, the Kia Sportage 2022 is close to the latest Sorento and radically differs from its predecessor, but technically it is a sibling of the new Hyundai Tucson. From the latter, the new Kia inherited not only the chassis but also the engine lineup.
In South Korea, sales of the Kia Sportage 2022 start on July 20. The new model will reach other markets a bit later.
By the way, the Kia Sportage 2022 has already managed to visit Ukraine. The test prototype of the Korean bestseller was spotted on the roads of our country in May this year.
