The video shows that the race was organized on a straight section of road, where hundreds of spectators watched the event, and some even got a chance to take a ride. For Tesla, this event was an important milestone: the development of the Model S Plaid took several years, and the start of commercial sales was postponed twice — initially, deliveries were planned to begin back in January, but in the end, the launch was pushed back by six months.

The Tesla Model S Plaid indeed demonstrates impressive dynamics. Under the hood are three electric motors with a combined output of 1020 hp. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in two seconds. The range is also impressive — 624 km.

It is noteworthy that simultaneously with the Plaid, in January, a more "long-range" version of the Model S Plaid was announced, capable of traveling almost 840 km on a single charge. However, later Tesla decided to abandon this modification. The official explanation states: owners of electric cars do not need such a large range without recharging, because in any case, they have to make stops for a snack, during which they can also replenish their energy supply.

The Model S Plaid is part of the updated S-model family. This lineup also includes the Tesla Model S Long Range liftback, which is scheduled for production in the fall. This car accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, and its range is 663 km.

In the US market, the price of the Tesla Model S Plaid starts at $130,000, while the restyled Model S Long Range is priced at a minimum of $80,000.
