These compact minivans, designed for seven passengers, are built on a common platform and equipped with identical transmissions, with the difference between them lying only in the exterior design and badges. The name Sette comes from the Italian language and translates as “seven” — this is how the manufacturer indicates the number of seats in the cabin of the new model. As for the name Luminas, it is composed of two English words: roomy, meaning spacious, and luminous, meaning glowing or shiny.
Production facilities are located at the Daihatsu plant, and Toyota will receive the Passo Sette under an OEM agreement. The planned monthly sales volume is 3,000 units of the Toyota Passo Sette and 500 units of the Daihatsu Boon Luminas.
The price range for these cars extends from 1,490,000 yen (which is $16,489) to 2,073,000 yen (which corresponds to $22,941).
