The new Volkswagen Taigo is the "Old World" version of the coupe-like SUV VW Nivus, which has been produced and sold in Latin America since last year. The car is built on the same MQB A0 platform (the same chassis, by the way, is used by the Polo hatchback); moreover, it differs from its overseas donor only in a different front bumper, a modified radiator grille, and new LED headlights.

The technical characteristics of the Volkswagen Taigo have not yet been disclosed, but it is obvious that its dimensions will be the same as those of the Nivus, that is, its length will be 4266 mm, the wheelbase size will be 2566 mm, and the trunk volume will be 415 liters.
The engine range of the new product will include only TSI gasoline engines: these will likely be a 1.0-liter "turbo-three" with 95 hp and 110 hp, as well as a supercharged "four" with an output of 150 horsepower. There will also be three transmissions, depending on the engine – 5- and 6-speed manual, as well as 7-speed DSG. Drive – front-wheel drive only.

The official European premiere of the VW Taigo will take place in the summer, and sales of the new product should begin before the end of this year. The crossover will be produced in Spain, where, in fact, the photos presented in this note were taken.
