It seems that on the Ukrainian market, Volkswagen Taos will be able to please buyers with an affordable price. In the United States, this new crossover has already become the most affordable in the Volkswagen lineup: according to Carscoops, the starting price of the model is $22,300, which is a thousand cheaper than what they ask for the Nissan Rogue Sport (known here as Qashqai). Given that in Ukraine the Rogue Sport costs on average from $14,000 to $22,000 (from fresh cars with up to 5,000 km mileage to three-year-old examples with about 100,000 km), the Taos will likely be sold in the range of $13,000–$21,000 — depending on condition, mileage, age, and trim. That is, in price it will be at the level of new Renault Logan and Duster.

Now a few words about the car itself: Volkswagen Taos is a subcompact crossover assembled at Volkswagen's Mexican plant. In base versions, the car has front-wheel drive, while in more expensive ones — already all-wheel drive (from $25,000 in the US). There are three trims in total — S, SE, and SEL. The engine in all variants is the same — a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 158 hp and 250 Nm of torque, but the gearboxes differ: front-wheel-drive versions get an 8-speed automatic, all-wheel-drive versions get a 7-speed DSG robot.

Even in the base version, the Volkswagen Taos has LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, a multimedia system with a 6.5-inch screen, and a rear-view camera. In more expensive versions, this is supplemented with a winter package, wireless charging for devices, additional USB-C ports, a premium audio system, dual-zone climate control, adaptive headlights, and more. The interior upholstery also has several options — fabric, a combination of fabric and leatherette, as well as natural leather.
