By and large, the new product is a kind of electric version of the RAV4. Firstly, it has roughly the same dimensions, and secondly, a similar design. The bZ4X is the first product of the new bZ sub-brand, under which Toyota will produce exclusively electric vehicles. In total, the newly minted brand will release 15 cars of different sizes and classes (in the case of the debutant, the number "4" indicates that it is a mid-size car, and the letter "X" indicates its belonging to the crossover segment).

In profile, the Toyota bZ4X is just like the RAV4, but its front and rear are completely its own, unique: with thin LED headlights and taillights, large air intakes and a solid front panel (instead of a radiator grille). Inside, the electric crossover is also original: the instrument cluster is located high and away from the steering wheel, and the multimedia screen is implemented as a "floating" widescreen horizontally oriented display. In addition, the massive center console draws attention.

And although in terms of dimensions the bZ4X is indeed close to the "Rav", its interior is larger – due to a longer wheelbase and more compact components of the electric powertrain.

Technical details of the Toyota bZ4X are not disclosed; it is only known that the car is built on the new "electric platform" e-TNGA, which was developed jointly with Subaru. As the Japanese manufacturer emphasized, in this regard, the bZ4X's feature is that it combines Toyota's quality and reliability with Subaru's all-wheel-drive capabilities, thanks to which it will be able to deliver both comfortable and exciting driving pleasure.

Toyota announced that the bZ4X will go into production in mid-2022. It will be produced in Japan and China, and sold in key markets around the world.
