At the moment, this is the cheapest Volkswagen electric car, because the inexpensive city car VW e-up has already been discontinued. The price was reduced by installing a less powerful 143-horsepower motor.

The entry-level Volkswagen electric car accelerates to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds – 2.3 seconds slower than the 204-horsepower version. Although it is still faster than its gasoline counterpart – the Volkswagen Golf 1.5 TSI.

But the range remains unchanged – 423 km (WLTP cycle), since the battery capacity is the same – 58 kWh. For a model in this price segment, this is an excellent indicator. In addition, fast 100-kilowatt charging is supported – you can replenish the charge to 80% in just 35 minutes.

However, already this year, the Volkswagen ID.3 lineup will be joined by an even more affordable version with a 45 kWh battery. It will be able to travel 330 km without recharging.
