The Ioniq 5 is in many ways a "first" for Hyundai. Thus, it is the first car that the concern will release under a separate sub-brand, called, in fact, Ioniq (so far only three models have been announced under this brand). In addition, it is the first production car built on the Hyundai/Kia E-GMP platform, created specifically for electric vehicles. It is considered one of the most efficient and productive "carts" - it will allow you to squeeze out maximum characteristics.

Another strong point of the Ioniq 5 will be its design. The new product will not be like any model of the South Korean brand - its appearance is dominated by straight sharp lines and simple geometric shapes (in a word, strictness and minimalism). At the same time, the electric car will be "shod" in 20-inch wheels, which is quite unusual for a production car.

As for the characteristics, so far there is only preliminary data. According to unofficial information, the car will be driven by two electric motors with a total power of 313 hp (it will have all-wheel drive), and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h will be 5.2 seconds. Over time, the Ioniq 5 will also have a single-motor version, and there will also be two batteries - with a capacity of 58 kWh and 82 kWh. In the first case, the range will be 450 km according to the WLTP cycle, in the second - 550 km. In addition, the car will receive 800-volt charging, thanks to which the range from 20 to 80% can be replenished in just 15 minutes.

The first deliveries of the Ioniq 5 to Europe are expected in the summer; prices and more detailed information about the new electric car will appear later.
