Unlike its older brothers, the Ford Maverick is not body-on-frame. It is built on the platform of the Ford Kuga and Bronco Sport crossovers. Judging by the photos, the pickup is similar in design to the Ford Bronco Sport. The cargo platform is very small – about a meter in length.
Most likely, the new Ford Maverick will get gasoline turbo engines with a volume of 1.5 L (180 hp) and 2.0 L (245 hp). It is quite possible that a hybrid modification will appear later, because the Kuga has one. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants are expected.
