The new crossover is based on the Hyundai Venue, but the manufacturer has not yet disclosed the exact dimensions of the SUV. In addition to the standard version, the Kia Sonet will also get a GT version, which will have a differently styled radiator grille, front optics, as well as larger wheels and a diffuser.

Inside, the Sonet boasts a digital instrument cluster, a 10.2-inch multimedia screen, and a premium Bose audio system with seven speakers.

In the base trim, the front-wheel-drive crossover is equipped with a 1.2-liter gasoline engine producing 82 horsepower. The model will also be offered with a 120-horsepower turbocharged 1.0 engine and a 1.5-liter diesel producing 100 hp. Transmissions include a five- and six-speed manual gearbox, a six-speed automatic, or a seven-speed dual-clutch robot.

Assembly of the Kia Sonet will be organized at an Indian enterprise. Over time, the new model will also go on sale in other world markets. The price has not yet been announced.
