The electric car differs from the standard X3 by aerodynamic elements on the body and a differently designed "radiator" grille. The drag coefficient of the crossover is 0.29.

In motion, the rear-wheel-drive BMW iX3 is powered by an electric motor with an output of 210 kW (286 hp). The range is 460 km (WLTP cycle). The electric crossover takes 6.8 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h. The top speed is 180 km/h. To replenish the battery to 80% takes just 30 minutes.

Production of the BMW iX3 electric crossover will be set up at a Chinese plant in Shenyang. Sales of the new model are expected to start closer to the end of the year.
