The Ford Bronco Sport is built on a refined platform that also underpins the Escape model. The dimensions are also similar to the Escape: length — 4387 mm, width — 2088, height — 1783, wheelbase — 2670. The ground clearance of regular versions is 198 mm, but in the special First Edition trim it is increased to 223 mm.

The engine range currently includes two EcoBoost turbo engines: a three-cylinder 1.5 with 184 hp (257 Nm) and a two-liter with 284 hp (373 Nm). The transmission is an 8-speed automatic, with no alternative. All Bronco Sport versions are equipped with all-wheel drive.

The crossover is offered with four equipment packages: Bike, Snow, Water, and Camping. The interior design of the Bronco Sport is not too different from the Escape's interior, only the design of the ventilation deflectors has been changed.
