The brand change is due to the fact that at the end of last year, AvtoVAZ bought out 50% of General Motors' shares in the joint venture GM-Avtovaz, which is now fully controlled by the Russian company.

In addition to a different logo, the Lada Niva features slightly modified front optics and a somewhat different radiator grille design.
Technically, there are no changes. Under the hood of the SUV remains the same 1.7 petrol engine, which develops 80 hp and 125 Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, permanent all-wheel drive with a two-range transfer case and a locking center differential.

The Lada Niva is offered both in the standard version and with the Off Road off-road body kit. Prices for the updated SUV have not yet been announced.
