The restyled Tiguan features new bumpers, hood, front fenders, radiator grille and headlights. At the rear, the taillight design and bumper with simulated exhaust tips have changed. The color palette has also been expanded, and new wheel options ranging from 17 to 20 inches have been added.

Inside, there is a new steering wheel with touch-sensitive buttons, an upgraded media center with an 8 or 10.25-inch screen, and a fully touch-sensitive climate control unit.

In the engine lineup of the updated Tiguan, a base 122-horsepower version of the two-liter diesel has appeared, but the top variant with 240 hp has been removed from the range due to poor emission performance. The gasoline engines remain unchanged.
The Tiguan R sport version is equipped with a two-liter turbo engine producing 320 hp (420 Nm), all-wheel drive with an active rear differential, and a 7-speed DSG robot. This crossover also features a lowered suspension by 10 mm with adjustable dampers, reinforced brakes with blue calipers, an Akrapovic exhaust system, and 21-inch wheels.

The hybrid Tiguan's powertrain consists of a 1.4 turbo unit, an electric motor, and a traction battery with a capacity of 13 kWh. The electric range is 50 km.
European sales of the updated Volkswagen Tiguan will start in autumn.
