The wheelbase of the four-door model has not changed after the generation change - 2637 mm. However, in other dimensions, the new sedan has noticeably grown: length increased by 40 mm, width by 20 mm, and height by 10 mm. The front seats were installed slightly lower, which added headroom (+20 mm). The trunk volume remained the same - 425 liters.
Externally, the A3 sedan almost copies the hatchback, differing only in the rear part of the body. The aerodynamic drag coefficient of the model is now 0.25, which is 0.04 less than that of its predecessor. Aerodynamics were improved thanks to two movable flaps in the radiator grille, a completely flat bottom, special shape of side mirrors, and an active brake cooling system.
In the interior of the model, a third-generation MMI media center appeared, which works noticeably faster. Using an Android application for a smartphone, you can lock/unlock the car and start the engine. The basic configuration includes an automatic braking system.
Several suspension options have become available for the new sedan: basic, sport (lowered by 15 mm), and adaptive with electronically controlled shock absorbers.
The engine lineup of the new Audi A3 so far includes only a 1.5 TFSI turbo unit with 150 hp, as well as a two-liter diesel with similar power. Later, the range of engines will expand.
European sales start this month. The price of the new generation Audi A3 sedan starts from 27,700 euros.
