The new model is built on the modular MQB Evo platform. The car is 4.34 m long (+3 cm), 1.43 m high, and 1.82 m wide. The wheelbase is 2.6 meters. The trunk volume is 380 liters, which grows to 1200 liters with the rear seats folded. Up front, the new model features MacPherson struts, while the rear has a torsion beam or multi-link suspension.

The car is powered by a 1.5-liter TFSI gasoline engine. The unit produces 150 horsepower. Customers will also be offered a 2.0-liter diesel engine with outputs of 116 and 150 horsepower. The engines work with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed automatic.
Later, a hybrid version of the A3 will go on sale with a starter-generator powered by a 48-volt onboard electrical system, which provides an additional 16 horsepower. In the future, customers will also be offered all-wheel-drive modifications of the Audi A3, as well as sporty versions with engines producing up to 310 horsepower.

The car is equipped with matrix headlights, narrower taillights, a new radiator grille with a honeycomb pattern, a sculpted hood, massive air intakes, and wheels of various diameters. Inside, there is a 10.1-inch display of the upgraded multimedia system and a digital instrument cluster. Many vehicle functions can now be controlled by voice.
In the seat upholstery of the new-generation Audi A3 family, fabric made from recycled waste is used. Up to 89% of the material used in the cabin is obtained from shredded and melted plastic bottles. Three main interior designs will be available: Torsion with yellow contrast stitching, Puls with leather side bolsters, and S Line with a combination of black and silver shades.
