The car is built on the same platform as the Hyundai Venue. According to unofficial data, the Sonet's engine lineup will include a 1.2-liter gasoline engine with 83 horsepower. Customers will also be offered a 1.4-liter turbodiesel unit. The power of such an engine will be 90 horsepower. The older versions of the crossover will be equipped with a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 120 horsepower.
Transmissions are a six-speed manual and an automatic with the same number of gears. The older versions may get a 7DCT preselective gearbox.
