The restyling brought the four-door sedan and five-door hatchback a slightly redesigned appearance in the style of the European Skoda Scala and a new multimedia system.
Visually, the updated Rapid family is easy to distinguish by the "half" of the taillights that appeared on the trunk lid, new headlights, bumpers, and radiator grille. The dimensions of the models have not changed: the sedan is still 4512 millimeters long, and the hatchback is 4312 millimeters. Although the "Rapids" for Russia and China are conceptually similar, they have no interchangeable parts at the front and a different form factor: the domestic version features a liftback body.
Inside, the Chinese "Rapid" has a more modern entertainment system with a large screen and touchscreen. In addition, the design of the front panel has been slightly changed, and new decorative elements have appeared. Otherwise, the interior is the same: the designers did not touch the instrument panel, steering wheel, or door cards.
Technical innovations were reduced to boosting the only naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder EA211 engine by two horsepower to 112 horsepower. The transmission is the same: a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
