Earlier, Ferrari stated that the release of an "eco-friendly" car would take place no earlier than 2022, but later these plans were adjusted, and the timeline shifted by another year. Now there is information that the debut of the electric Ferrari model is expected no earlier than 2025.
"Battery technologies for electric vehicles have not yet reached the required level of development. Serious questions remain regarding range and battery charging speed. Of course, such a car will appear, but it is not a matter of the near future," said Camilleri.
The head of Ferrari also added that in the near future the company will focus on creating cars with hybrid powertrains, which by 2022 should account for about 60% of the brand's total sales.
