The powertrain remains unchanged: a 2.5-liter 185-horsepower engine paired with a CVT and all-wheel drive. Externally, the Forester X-Edition has also changed little. The special version can be distinguished by slightly darkened trim around the fog lights and front grille, as well as silver 18-inch wheels.

However, the car has been refined inside. The Forester's seats are upholstered in a special water-repellent fabric that resists dirt and moisture. The floor is covered with rubber mats that can be rinsed with a hose.

An LED light has been integrated into the tailgate, which can illuminate both the cargo area and the area around the vehicle.

The crossover will go on sale at the end of January next year, but for now only in the Japanese market.
