The Audi S8 received a four-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 571 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain is built on the mild hybrid principle: during intense acceleration, a starter-generator powered by the car's 48-volt electrical system assists the gasoline engine.
With this equipment, the super sedan accelerates from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds, and the electronics limit the top speed to 250 km/h.
The base trim includes a sport rear differential, all-wheel steering chassis, adaptive air suspension with electromechanical stabilizers, a noise cancellation system operating in antiphase, and a cylinder deactivation mechanism at low loads.
In addition, the new model features about four dozen electronic driver assistants operating based on six cameras, five radars, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. Among them are adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic traffic jam assist, and other options.
