Thanks to the overlays on the wheel arches, the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross has become 50 mm wider than the regular modification. It also received protection on the sills, roof rails, new 17-inch wheels and tires with an increased profile. The car's ground clearance has increased by 20 mm to 225 millimeters.

As for the interior, the second-row seat backs can be folded in a 60:40 ratio, and the third-row in a 50:50 ratio. In addition, there is room inside the car for many niches designed to carry various items.

The power unit has not undergone changes. The Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is offered with an alternative-free 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine developing 105 hp and 141 Nm of torque. The engine of the front-wheel-drive car works in conjunction with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.

In 2018, the standard Xpander, which is produced in Indonesia, became the fourth most popular Mitsubishi car. The model sold 104,000 units.
