The BMW M2 CS is equipped with a modified three-liter inline six-cylinder turbo engine developing 450 hp, which is 40 hp more powerful than the engine of the M2 Competition variant. Torque remained at the same level — 550 newton-meters. The unit is combined with both a six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

With the robotic transmission, the coupe can reach the first “hundred” in 4.0 seconds, and with the “manual” — 0.2 seconds slower. For comparison: the M2 Competition accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 4.2 and 4.4 seconds, respectively. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h.

A number of body elements of the car are made of carbon fiber. In particular, the roof, hood, front splitter, rear diffuser, and spoiler are made of composite materials.

The standard equipment of the new model includes an active M-differential and adaptive M-suspension, which was previously not available for the M2 line. Carbon-ceramic brake mechanisms are offered as an option.

The public premiere of the BMW M2 CS will take place at the end of November at the motor show in Los Angeles. The first cars will reach customers no earlier than spring next year.
