A feature of the new product, the premiere of which will take place in Shanghai at the international exhibition of goods China International Import Expo, was an unusual design in the spirit of fantastic flying vehicles.
The length of the concept car was 4850 mm, the height was 1550 mm, and the wheelbase size is 3000 millimeters. The crossover received a solid panoramic glazing of the cabin, which gives a reference to "UFOs and flying saucers". The space theme is also traced in the unusual body lines and special front and rear LED optics, called Star Cloud.
In the cabin, seats made of a special elastic material were installed. In the interior design, special elements called Dragon Skin were used as a tribute to traditional Chinese culture.
The Kia Futuron is driven by four electric units installed in the wheels. The car received an autonomous control system operating on the basis of a complex of LIDAR optical sensors.
The autopilot corresponds to the fourth level — the electronics are able to drive the car completely independently, but the driver can take control at any time. When the automatic mode is activated, the steering wheel will fold into the front panel, and the seat will recline back.
Kia does not intend to launch a detailed car into production, but it is possible that some stylistic solutions will appear on production models in the future.
