Judging by the first images, the new model will feature unusual optics with Z-shaped daytime running lights and rear lights connected by an LED strip. It is also noticeable that the car in the teasers has no door handles.

Along with the exterior, the interior was also revealed. From the drawing, it follows that the new Optima will get a fully digital instrument cluster, a significantly modernized center console, and a different multimedia system screen, which is now mounted higher and has an elongated shape. Another innovation is a washer that has taken the place of the gear shift lever.

Earlier it was reported that the new-generation Kia Optima will be equipped with a new 2.5-liter turbo engine from the Theta III family and an eight-speed robot with two dry clutches. At the same time, the engine lineup will retain the 1.6 turbo unit, but it will work not with a seven-speed robot as before, but with an automatic transmission. But the most serious innovation is the availability of optional all-wheel drive.

It can be assumed that the new Kia Optima, also known as the K5, will debut before the end of this year, with production presumably starting in early 2020.
