The Japanese version of the Toyota Camry is a hybrid with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and an electric motor, together producing 211 horsepower. For the e-Four modification, an additional electric motor is installed on the rear axle. Such a car will have a peak power of about 218 horsepower.

The all-wheel-drive sedan is aimed at buyers from northern or mountainous regions of Japan, so all-wheel drive here is engaged only at start and disengages after reaching a speed of 10 kilometers per hour. The Camry with the e-Four system will go on sale in the Japanese market in mid-December.
