The Mercedes-Benz GLE 580 4Matic received a four-liter biturbo V8 engine, operating in conjunction with a starter-generator powered by a 48-volt on-board network.

The total power of the unit reaches 490 horsepower and 700 Newton-meters, which exceeds the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 by 55 "horses" and 180 N·m. Additionally, the EQ Boost option allows the starter-generator to add another 21 horsepower and 250 N·m for a short period, enhancing acceleration dynamics.

The crossover in the base trim is equipped with the MBUX multimedia system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, connected to a digital instrument cluster of the same diagonal. The interface recognizes voice commands in natural language, and some functions are activated by gestures.

The standard package also includes adaptive air suspension, an AMG-style aerodynamic body kit, a leather-trimmed interior, and 22-inch wheels. On the American market, the price of such a vehicle starts at $76,800. Sales are scheduled to begin in late 2019.
