The Mini Clubman and Countryman in the John Cooper Works variant are equipped with a modernized turbocharged four-cylinder engine, whose output has increased from 231 hp and 350 Nm of torque to 305 hp and 450 Nm. In particular, the engine uses a modified crankshaft and cooling system, as well as a new exhaust system.

The engine works only in conjunction with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The British decided to abandon the version with a six-speed manual transmission.

The new Mini Clubman JCW can accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, and the Countryman JCW in 5.1 seconds. This is 1.4 and 1.5 seconds faster than their predecessors, respectively. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

The Mini Clubman JCW and Countryman JCW received a new mechanical differential on the front axle, a chassis with optimized settings, as well as more powerful braking mechanisms with enlarged 330-millimeter discs.
