Tesla Model S and Model X electric cars have had their range increased

The modernization affected electric vehicles in the Long Range version: they were equipped with a more advanced synchronous electric motor, the drive design was reworked with new bearings, and the lubrication and cooling systems were improved.

Thanks to these refinements, the range of the electric vehicles increased by 10 percent, while the battery capacity remained the same — 100 kilowatt-hours. The Model S can now travel up to 595 kilometers, and the Model X up to 523 kilometers.

The changed layout of the power unit also made it possible to reduce charging time by one and a half times when using Supercharger stations with 200 and 145 kilowatts.

In addition, the cars received adaptive suspension with improved control settings — the fresh software can be downloaded via the cloud service.
