This modification is still available exclusively on the Chinese market, and its production is established at the facilities of the BMW Brilliance Automotive joint venture, located in Shenyang.

The restyled BMW X1 xDrive25Le received a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, a six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, and an electric motor mounted on the rear axle. The combined power of the hybrid system reaches 231 horsepower and 382 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h for the plug-in hybrid takes 7.4 seconds. The electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery with increased energy density, which has become only 2.5 kilograms lighter than its predecessor.

Thanks to the use of new materials and technologies, the crossover's electric-only range has increased by 83 percent and now stands at 110 kilometers. The fuel consumption figure in the combined cycle has decreased by 72 percent, settling at 1.3 liters. The equipment list includes a panoramic roof, navigation with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display and voice control, LED headlights, and a parking assistant.

At the end of 2018, the BMW X1 xDrive25Le was the best-selling plug-in hybrid model in the premium segment in China, and now it is recognized as the most economical car in the brand's lineup.
