The sedan is built on the new modular SGP (Subaru Global Platform), which has improved body rigidity, lowered the center of gravity, enhanced handling, and reduced noise and vibration levels.

The seventh-generation Legacy has been given a new turbo engine – a 2.4-liter boxer producing 264 hp and 375 Nm of torque. The unit is paired exclusively with a CVT. The sedan takes 6.1 seconds to reach 96 km/h. Additionally, the engine lineup includes a 2.5-liter unit producing 185 hp and 239 Nm.
In top trims, the new Legacy is equipped with a multimedia system controlled via an 11.6-inch vertical screen.

The model also offers the proprietary EyeSight safety suite, which includes an active lane-keeping assist system, as well as blind-spot monitoring and driver fatigue detection functions.
